【Tips and Info from AWEP No.229】
A lot of rain fell as the typhoons from the South Sea passed through Japan. We’re still in the typhoon season, so please be prepared for more typhoons coming this way. Pay attention to weather forecasts and be sure to stay safe.
On Sept. 18 (Sun), two kagura performances by Tohoku people will be held to pray for a quick recovery of the Tohoku people’s lives from damages caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Disasters. (Kagura is a traditional dance performed to convey people’s wishes and prayers to gods.) One performance will be from 10:00 a.m. at the Minatogawa-Jinja Shrine (a 5 minute walk north from JR Kobe). 1,000 yen for adults and 500 yen for kids. The other from 4 p.m. at the Ikuta-Jinja Shrine (an 8 minute walk north from JR Sannomiya) will be free of charge. Please enjoy the traditional dances from Tohoku including the children’s kagura and pray for the Tohoku region’s recovery.
