A new rule was made for Technical Intern Trainees and Specified Skilled Workers who lost their jobs due to Covid-19, which states that you can have a different type of job. The Immigration Services Agency of Japan started this new rule on April 20th.
The old rule limited the types of jobs (industry) that Technical Intern Trainees and Specified SkilledWorkers could have. This banned working in other industries.
According to this new rule, Technical Intern Trainees and Specified Skilled Workers who lost their jobs due to Covid-19 can change their career industry. After obtaining a new job, you will have a license entitled “Designated Activities” and be eligible to work for one year.
The Immigration Services Agency of Japan will help Technical Intern Trainees and Specified Skilled Workers who still want to work in Japan find a new job.
Companies (owners) in some industries like agriculture and nursing care are looking for workers, and the Immigration Services Agency of Japan will introduce these jobs, among others.
First, please contact “Organization for Technical Intern Training” or “Immigration Services Agency of Japan” and inform them that you are looking for work in Japan. Your current Supervising Organizations or your organization (company)where you are employed atshould help you.
