SOUND WAVESMay 9th 2009
Presented by: Bernard Farrell
In this program I started off by talking about
the wamer weather
encouraging people to do outdoor sports
like jogging and cycling.
The number of people riding sports bikes seems
to have increased recently,
showing a growing popularity in the sport.
I advised riders and joggers to make sure
they get enough liquids
when going for long rides or runs
and to protect themselves
from the strong UV rays.
After the first song by Sinead O’Connor,
I gave an announcement from Kobe City
on consultation offices
for the ‘new-type influenza virus’
with a list of consultation offices
and their ｔelephone numbers.
I followed this up with some household tips
for protection from flu viruses.
I then talked about the new flu virus
and the use of masks as protection from the virus
and the difference in mask usage in different countries.
My advice is, if there is an outbreak of the swine flu
near you, wear a mask to be on the safe side.
I followed this up with Golden Week holiday topics
and the new 1,000 yen highway toll fees for private cars
The music in this program is from the CD / DVD album
‘Theology’ by Sinead O’Connor who is one of
Ireland’s greatest and most radical female singer-songwriters.
Remember to wash your hands thoroughly and
gargle after coming in from being outdoors
and especially after being in a crowed place.
If you have a cough or sneeze, make sure you
cover your mouth and nose. Wear a mask if possible.
